Elena Agarkova is an environmental lawyer and policy expert on Arctic conservation, sustainable development and international environmental law. During her ICWA fellowship (Russia, 2008-2010), she focused on Siberia’s natural resources and communities. Later, from 2012 to 2020, she served as senior program officer for the Arctic Program at the World Wildlife Fund. She currently practices law at Almeida Law Group. Her work and commentary have appeared in outlets including The Moscow Times and ECO Magazine. Elena holds a JD from Georgetown University and a BA in political science from Barnard College.
