Judith Mayer is an environmental planner who has worked with numerous government agencies and community organizations, conducted research and taught in the United States, Asia and Europe. She served as director and coordinator of the Earth Island Institute’s Borneo Project (of which she’s a founding member), and taught at the Department of Environmental Science and Management at California State Polytechnic University, Humboldt. Her ICWA Forest and Society fellowship in Malaysia and Indonesia (1987–1989) examined environmental protection conservation and sustainable development.
