Cynthia Caron is a development sociologist and practitioner in international development and humanitarian assistance. An associate professor in Clark University’s Department of Sustainability and Social Justice, she researches gender relations in agricultural production, land and natural resource governance, displacement and other contexts. She holds a PhD in development sociology from Cornell University and has worked with World Wildlife Fund-Bhutan, UNICEF, UNDP, CARE International and the International Labor Organization, among other groups. She was an ICWA fellow from 1994 to 1996 in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bhutan.
