Mahli Knutson – China

Mahli is spending two years in China examining changes in family life and their impact on the concept of childhood, public systems such as orphanage care, and decisions families make about raising children and caring for aging parents. A graduate of Middlebury College with a master’s degree from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, Mahli was most recently a foreign service officer with the State Department, an executive board member for China’s Children International and a Fulbright fellow in Taiwan. Adopted as a baby in China, she grew up in Vermont.
