Jonthon Coulson's most recent work includes his doctoral research at the Teachers College, Columbia University, where he focused on education policy, post-colonial statecraft and cultural hegemony in Southeast Asia. His ICWA fellowship (Indonesia, 2016-2018) explored how decentralization and national policy in Indonesia shaped identity formation in educational spaces. He has worked in Indonesia and the US as a researcher, educator and consultant with organizations including the World Bank, the Fulbright Program, and State Department. He holds a BA from the University of Southern California and an MA from Teachers College.
