Roger Reynolds is a Pulitzer Prize-winning composer (“Whispers Out of Time,” 1989) and author of five books who was an ICWA fellow in Japan (1966–1971). He helped establish the University of California, San Diego’s Music Department and has received Fulbright, Guggenheim and the National Institute of Arts and Letters awards as well as a grant from the Rockefeller Foundation and the Revelle Medal from UC San Diego (2016). In 1998, the Library of Congress established a special collection of his work, and he was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 2023.
