Bryn Barnard, former ICWA fellow (1983-85, visual communication in Southeast Asia), has been recognized by the International Literacy Association and the Children’s Book Council: His latest book, THE NEW OCEAN: The Fate of Life in a Changing Sea (Knopf), is on the 2018 ILA-CBC Children’s Choices reading list. It’s a list of books that children, solicited by the ILA and CBC, have said they like to read. THE NEW OCEAN was previously selected by both the New York Public Library and Bank Street as one of the best books of 2018 and was featured in the Horn Book’s 2018 Earth Day edition.
