Former Fellow Jonathan Guyer (Egypt, 2015-2017) published an article for PRI about Naji al-Ali, the Palestinian political cartoonist who was gunned down in London 30 years ago. Guyer remarks that the “anniversary of [al-Ali’s] murder and the reopening of the investigation is an opportunity to consider Ali’s aesthetic and political legacy in the Middle East and his enduring popularity across the world.”
