Former ICWA fellow and trustee Susan Brind Morrow (Egypt, Sudan, 1988-1990) has won an Arts and Letters Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the organization announced.

Morrow is a classicist, linguist, poet and translator of ancient Egyptian mythology and contemporary Arabic poetry. She has written three books: The Dawning Moon of the Mind, Wolves and Honey, The Names of Things, and is currently at work on another on the subject of darkness for Farrar, Straus and Giroux.

The American Academy of Arts and Letters is an honor society of architects, artists, composers and writers. It presents over 70 awards and prizes each year.
