Joshua Levkowitz is a humanitarian adviser with the United Nations. Awarded ICWA’s Patricia and Robert Levinson fellowship (2021–2023), he was based in Istanbul and reported about Syrian diaspora communities in Turkey, Central Asia, Europe, the Gulf and elsewhere. Previously, Joshua lived in the northern Iraqi city of Erbil, working as a senior program officer on reconciliation for the United States Institute of Peace. He has a master’s degree in international relations and international economics with a concentration in conflict management from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies.
