Derek Paton is a writer, teacher and translator who has translated numerous works of Czech history, politics and art history for more than 25 years, often working with his wife, Marzia Paton. His ICWA fellowship in Czechoslovakia and Bulgaria from 1989 to 1991 probed the countries’ early transitions following the collapse of the Soviet Bloc in 1989.
