Chemical attack won’t change Trump’s calculus on Syria

 

The US presence in eastern Syria is “an entirely different issue” from April’s chemical attack in Douma, Andrew Tabler says. “It is focused on defeating ISIS, and President Trump does not want a long-term commitment there in terms of troops.”
