Former Fellow Malia Politzer (India, Spain, 2013-2015) wrote an article published by Devex regarding universal healthcare. Politzer notes that at least “400 million people globally lack access to essential health services such as immunization, family planning services and primary care hospitals, according to the World Health Organization, resulting in the unnecessary deaths of millions of men, women and children every year.”
