Israel is uniquely equipped to cope with a pandemic like the coronavirus, former ICWA fellow Neri Zilber (Israel, 2011-2013) writes in an opinion piece for Canada’s Globe and Mail.

“The Israeli government began taking measures more than three weeks ago to halt the spread of the virus, well before many Western states,” he writes. “Psychology and history help explain part of the response, which has the entire country on the verge of total lockdown.”
