The coronavirus pandemic is laying bare the major problems threatening the transatlantic relationship both the United States and European Union have failed to address, write former ICWA fellow and current executive director Gregory Feifer (Russia, 2000-2002) and Susan Corke, director of the Transatlantic Democracy Working Group, for the German Marshall Fund.

“Although it will take time to play out, the coronavirus pandemic is a pivotal moment,” they write, “a brutal, devastating test about collective responsibility and shared values neither side can afford to waste.”
