It was inspired by the Bushmen and other traditional societies, as a way to stop and reverse the “tragedy of the commons” when it comes to water. Whether you’re a family, farmer, or industrial firm, we allocate securely defined shares of water within an existing natural or manmade system, set an ecologically restorative limit, and allow all parties to trade what they save so that water flows to its highest value use while ensuring social equity and natural resilience.
