Reuters quoted Cheng Li about the announcement of China’s new leadership line-up, under which there is no clear successor to President Xi Jinping, who has arguably become “the most powerful Chinese leader since Mao Zedong.” Cheng Li was a fellow of the Institute in China from 1993-1995.
