The administration of US President Joe Biden has been notably cautious in establishing ties with Damascus, former fellow Andrew Tabler (Lebanon, Syria, 2005-2007) writes in Foreign Affairs.

“Even though Biden would clearly prefer to pursue other foreign policy goals,” he writes, “Syria will increasingly demand his attention.”
