Former ICWA fellow Thomas Goltz (Turkey, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Iran, 1990-92) reflects on his 40-year association with a “wayward US Eurasian ally” in his latest book Turkiye Diary. The book focuses on the tenure of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his Islamist government.

Goltz has also written a troika of well-received books about the Caucasus: Azerbaijan Diary, Chechnya Diary and Georgia Diary.
